Description
Summary:Esters obtained by the esterification of dibasic acids with monohydric and polyhydric alcohols are widely used today as synthetic lube oils. Esters of monobasic carboxylic acids and straight-chain monohydric alcohols are rarely used for this purpose, as their viscosity-temperature properties are unsatisfactory. Synthetic oils obtained by esterification of monobasic acids of different molecular weights with monohydric, dihydric, and polyhydric alcohols have flat viscosity-temperature curves and are good in antioxidant and antiwear properties.
