Summary: | Offers a comparative analysis of the labor legislation & work conditions surrounding the export industries of Costa Rica & the Dominican Republic. The higher employment rates & higher wages of Costa Rica are contrasted with the negative situations in the Dominican Republic. However, recently instigated regulations & labor agreements in the Dominican Republic represent progressive ways of approaching management-labor relations, standing as possible examples for Central American industry in general.
