Summary: | Tests investigating the catalytic decomposition of NO on Cu/ZSM-5 catalyst were enacted in a tubular fixed-bed reactor at atmospheric pressure. Data detailing the impacts of temperature and flow rate on the rate of reaction are reported. Findings concerning the kinetic model of reaction were compared against information in the literature. Researchers also sought to assess the formation of NO sub(2) during the catalytic decomposition of NO. Supplemental tests sought to evaluate the kinetics of NO oxidation under similar experimental conditions. The reactor model was created based on both kinetic models. Good agreement was observed between experimental data and values estimated via the reactor model. |
