Summary:	Preface by the Editor of the Revista de Llengua i Dret, Journal of Language and Law (RLD), Avel·lí Flors Mas, on the occasion of the publication of the 80th issue of the RLD and the 40th anniversary of the journal. Flors Mas, who is also Professor of Sociolinguistics at the University of Barcelona, highlights the journey that has taken place since that first issue in June 1983, highlights the conference to celebrate the 40th anniversary held at the Public Administration School of Catalonia on 22 September 2023, and previews the contents of the monographic section of this 80th issue on language and neutrality.
