Description
Summary:Although in force since 1995, the recognition of foreign professional qualifications to become a sworn translator or sworn interpreter is in general a less well-known access route than examination, despite representing larger numbers than the latter in the last decade. To stress the importance of this route, this publication describes the administrative procedure for the recognition of professional qualifications for these professions in Spain. It then considers the current situation as regards the status of professions as "regulated professions" and details the regulatory disparity in Europe, which complicates the recognition of foreign professional qualifications in Spain. Finally, it analyses Spanish data for recognition of foreign qualifications in relation to these professions and breaks them down by language, qualifications and years.
