Description
Summary:The purpose of this project was to take a team of individuals from The Well Baptist Church in Venice, FL and lead them through the process of designing a strategy to develop leaders at the church. The Well is a church plant with limited leaders and a continual strain on the time and energies of the project director, the church planter. A healthy process of leadership development and multiplication would increase the potential for the growth and success of the church plant. The second chapter of the project examines two key text of Scriptures related to biblical leadership and leadership development. One text, Matt 20:20-28, focuses on the teachings of Christ regarding leadership. The second text, 2 Tim 1:3-14, focuses on Paul’s relationship with Timothy and his development of Timothy as a leader. The third chapter presents the examination of various source materials that inform the project and eventually the strategy-development team. The materials include books written by experts in pastoral ministry and leadership, articles from online sources or journals, and various curriculums as well as insights from pastors currently implementing some form of leadership training. The fourth and fifth chapters detail the process of the project implementation and the analysis of the project overall respectively. The project director offers insights into the overall success of the strategy development as well as personal insight into the project strengths and weaknesses.
