Implantable devices for treating tachyarrhythmias

Prevention with pacing-Retrospective studies have shown that atrial based pacing results in a reduced burden of atrial fibrillation compared with ventricular based pacing. Pacing the atria at high rates may prevent the conditions required for re-entry and thus prevent atrial fibrillation.
