C73 NEW MECHANISMS AND THERAPIES IN COPD: Decreased Level Of Irisin, A Skeletal Muscle Cell-Derived Myokine, Is Involved In Emphysema Associated With Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Through Epithelial Apoptosis
Irisin is a skeletal muscle cell-derived myokine, and recently reported to decrease oxidative stress-induced apoptosis in diabetes mellitus subjects. The effect of irisin on cigarette smoke extract (CSE) induced A549 cell apoptosis and Nrf2 expression level was also examined in vitro.
