| Summary: | The purpose of this thesis is to formulate recommendations for core curriculum in music theory and aural skills for small church-affiliated schools whose students are planning careers in music ministry. Suggestions will be made regarding the structure of music curricula of church-affiliated colleges with enrollment of less than 1,000 students that are not accredited through a music accreditation agency. It addresses music theory as it relates to the worship leader's ability to analyze, interpret, arrange, orchestrate, and compose the wide variety of musical styles used by churches and the worship leader's ability to effectively teach and communicate this knowledge in all areas of the local church music department. |
