Summary: | Methods: This study was conducted on samples obtained from 60 patients with genital tract infection in age from 20 to 40 years that referred to medical centers of Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences.After sampling from patients by gynecologist, the samples were inserted in the transport media and were transferred to the microbiology laboratory of University.Then incubated samples after were cultured in specific media.with observing colonies and confirmation, Were isolated 4 types of microorganisms responsible for vag- initis detected that Including, Listeria, Lactobacillus, Candida, Streptococcus Group B. Results: This experimental study was conducted on 60 pa- tients with vaginitis the amount of the antimicrobial effect of green tea extract has been studied compared with six com- mon antibiotics in the treatment of vaginitis on three micro- organisms.Antimicrobial effects of green tea extract on Lacto- bacillus and Listeria was greater than other commonly used antibiotics studied except ciprofloxacin.In the case of group B Streptococcus antimicrobial effects of green tea extract was equivalent to ampicillin and gentamicin antibiotics. |
