Summary: | The ability to rapidly distinguish trichothecene chemotypes inFusarium graminearumisolates originated from Hungary is important due to significant differences in the toxicity of these secondary metabolites. Based on sequences ofTri3, Tri5andTri 7, genes involved in the mycotoxin biosynthetic pathway, multiplex PCR assays were used to detect deoxynivalenol (DON), 3-acetyldeoxynivalenol (3-ADON), 15-acetyldeoxynivalenol (15-ADON) and nivalenol (NIV) chemotypes. All four chemotypes ofF. graminearumwere identified with DON-15ADON chemotype predominant. |
