Description
Summary:The authors analyzed all research articles published between 2002 and 2011 in the international journal Instructional Science, with a goal to provide an understanding of the type of research being published in this journal, major contributing authors, and the most-cited publications of this time period. They examined research methodology, recurrent keywords, major contributing authors, and citation trends of the articles.Over this 10-year period, they found a large increase in the amount of articles published per issue, a preference for inferential studies, a decrease in theoretical work, and an important emphasis on Cognitive Load Theory.
