An ultra-compact and low-loss wavelength demultiplexer employing the photonic-crystal-like metamaterial structure

A wavelength demultiplexer with the compact size of 2.6μm×3.8μm is proposed based on a novel photonic-crystal-like metamaterial structure. The device displays low loss (<;-1.7dB), low crosstalk (<;-13.6dB) and broad bandwidth (>59nm) with large fabrication tolerance.
