Active 1/spl times/N splitter based on cascaded beam shifters at 1.5 /spl mu/m

Active splitting between up to several hundreds outputs is shown to be feasible using cascaded liquid crystal beam shifters. Performances of 1/spl times/4 and 1/spl times/16 devices are reported.
