Description
Summary:This paper presents the discussion regarding the nonlinear amplification in Staggered MultiTone (SMT) based transmission systems. It will be shown that for the sufficient large number of subcarriers, the SMT signal follows Gaussian distribution and thus, Bussgang theorem for nonlinearly distorted signal could be here applied with advantage. In order to improve the performance of SMT transmission systems inflicted by the nonlinearities, this paper presents also the novel receiver structure for the compensation of the effects of clipping in SMT systems. The simulation results over Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN) channel are presented to verify the performance of the SMT turbo-receiver.
