Description
Summary:Summary form only given. The possibility of using an electron launcher voltage probe to diagnose the electron sheath in a MITL (magnetically insulated transmission line) is being studied. A probe with height less than the thickness of the electron sheath might provide information abut the sheath electron charge density and current profiles. QUICKSILVER has been used to address this possibility and to study the more general problem of three-dimensional electron flow around obstructions in MITLs.
