Description
Summary:Presents a new visualization technique for radiographs and other projection images used in radiotherapy treatment planning. Radiograph, patient anatomy, and treatment applicators are visualized in 3D in the same display. This enables verification of the reconstruction of the treatment geometry and the registration of images. The method provides the treatment planner a greater understanding of the spatial relationships of the treatment geometry. The possibility of overlaying 3D dose distributions on the radiographs has been found to be very useful.
