Development of a Fast-Rising Short-Pulse High-Voltage Power Supply using SiC-MOSFETs for the J-PARC Kicker System

We have been developing a semiconductor switch power supply using SiC-MOSFETs to replace the conventional thyratron switch power supply. The newly developed power supply outputs a rated output of 40kV/2kA, a pulse width of 1.2μs, and a repetition rate of 25Hz using the LTD circuit system. This power...

Description
Summary:We have been developing a semiconductor switch power supply using SiC-MOSFETs to replace the conventional thyratron switch power supply. The newly developed power supply outputs a rated output of 40kV/2kA, a pulse width of 1.2μs, and a repetition rate of 25Hz using the LTD circuit system. This power supply has achieved performance that replaces the current kicker power supply at J-PARC. The specifications of the developed LTD pulse power supply circuit for SiC-MOSFETs, the corona-free structure of the constructed high-voltage application section, and the results of power saving and miniaturization will be reported.
