Description
Summary:This chapter illustrates a forest monitoring system solution by demonstrating a wireless sensor network solution that is based on the ZigBee communications protocol. The purpose of this study is to improve upon the inadequacy of the current monitoring methods and to introduce the technology of wireless sensor networks. To accomplish the goal of this research, the hardware design of sensor network nodes and network protocols that are suitable for forest monitoring will be provided. This is accomplished by doing an in-depth investigation of three aspects of network topology: energy efficiency, stability, and reliability. The system that was built is capable of carrying out efficient monitoring of the forest environment.
