Description
Summary:This paper presents an exploration of bandwidth extension in optical communication systems towards L band through the integration of Raman amplifiers. By employing a Raman amplifier, the usable bandwidth of the optical fiber can be significantly extended, enhancing the capacity and performance of modern high-speed networks. We investigate the theoretical foundations and practical implementations of Raman amplifiers in L-band, detailing gain characteristics and noise performance. Our findings suggest that Raman amplifiers are a viable solution for addressing the increasing demand for higher data rates and expanded bandwidth in optical communication systems.
