Summary:In an official competition, a football match can not be started without the referee presence. This expert in applying the rules of football during the game, takes into account many details before make a decision. However, the information for this decision goes beyond the information obtained by viewing the play. Therefore, the aim of this study was to analyze the scientific production, broadly, and check what are the variables that affect the formulation of football referee's decision at the time that he will interrupt a game to signal the breaking of a game rules. Through this review, we determined that several factors influence the football referee decision-making, between this stood out: the size of the crowd and the noise that can interfere with the number of foul signaled, the penalty, the number of yellow and red cards presented and extra time given by the referee during the game.
