Description
Summary:The wolfram district studied is located in the Valle de Pancanta (Sierras Pampeanas de San Luis). It is characterized for a veins mineralization, lodged in tonalite and granite plutons and in low grade schists; nevertheless doubts exist still in the geocronological relation among them. The granite La Escalerilla has been dated for different authors throwing ages that locate it in the Upper Cambrian and in the Lower Devonian. Nevertheless an age obtained recently from muscovite of the alteration zone of the Pancanta Mine would be attesting for the oldest age of the granite.
