Description
Summary:The purpose of a telecommunication system in conjunction with protection systems is to transfer a protection signal in due time from the protection equipment to a similar equipment at the remote station. This paper describes an implementation of the interface in the teleprotection terminal dedicated to operate over Power Line Carrier (PLC) links. Properties of the teleprotection terminal are briefly described, and in the sequel, the implementation of the line unit using FPGA technology is described in detail. The presented simulation model can be used to optimize the interface for suppressing noise effects that may appear in a communication channel realized over high voltage power line and PLC equipment.
