Summary:Electric trauma is a physical damage to the body due to an electric shock exceeding the physical resistance threshold of the body. Young people of working age are most often affected. The presented clinical lecture considers the main causes, risk factors for electric shock, modern classification and pathophysiology. Features of a damage by atmospheric electricity and electric weapons are highlighted. Complications of electric trauma and principles of medical care at the pre-hospital and hospital stages, as well as measures to prevent electric shock are outlined.
