Summary:	This paper illustrates the steps followed for the construction of a numismatic dictionary based on international cataloguing standards. In principle, it describes the development of a methodology that can be extrapolated to lexical and semantic classification of numismatic terms and other art terms with a similar nature. Then, it explains some methodological and conceptual bases considered for the creation of a terminological resource that allows do semasiological and onomasiological on line consultations about numismatic work types. Thanks to the proposed terminological work, it is assumed that the dictionary and the methodology developed could be a reference for future work in the area of numismatic and cultural work type terminology.
