Summary:Ignats Kunosh is a Hungarian turkologist with the origin Jew devoted his life to the collecting of Turkic folk literature and studying the forgetton accents and dialects. Due to his effort the folklore and the ethnograpy of many regions of Anatolian have been saved. Either according to the wars or the natural disasters the traditions, names of places, folklore examples of some regions disappeared from the map have come to nowadays with the matchless help of Kunosh. Though his activity was investigated in details in some Turkic states in Azerbaijan Ignats Kunosh’s scientific activity was not in the centre of the attention. In this article the information about Ignats Kunosh’s personality, his travel in Turkic states and the folklore examples collected by him will be given, his hard and honourable life will be shown.
