Description
Summary:Motherhood in HIV/Aids context is marked by challenges of dealing with a chronic and stigmatized disease and by the fear of mother-infant transmission of HIV. This article aimed at review the literature on interventions for pregnant women living with HIV/Aids. We revised fundaments of health interventions, as the Health Education and the Systemic Approach, besides theoretical and practical aspects of counseling. we also revised findings on motherhood in this context, which permitted the identification of themes to be used in the intervention: a) physical and emotional aspects of the pregnancy in the HIV/Aids context; b) delivery, post-partum and initial development of the infant; c) family and social support; d) living with mother and infant treatment. We believe that this review can be the basis of the construction of an intervention designed to pregnant women living with HIV/Aids.
