Summary:The effort on the reading and understanding of each word in the Old Turkic inscriptions presents important contributions to the Old Turkic philology. There are two sentences on the 26th line of the eastern side of the Köl Tigin inscription and the 21st line of the eastern side of the Bilgä Qaγan inscriptions: nŋyILSG bod(u)nqa ol(u)rm(a)d(ı)m and [nŋ yI]LsG bod(u)nta [üzä ol(u)rm(a)d(ı)m]. There is no definite conclusion as to the reading and the meaning of the nŋyILSG in these sentences. In the article, the previous proposals will be evaluated and a new reading proposal will be presented.
