Summary:Zahajki is a village located in the Wyryki commune, in the Włodawa poviat. World War II was a period where each town had its own specific events that left a particular mark on the local society. A small village located in the midst of forests has undergone numerous such events. Here, there was a murdering the Jewish community, as well as pacification through the Luftwaffe air raids on the countryside. In this area, a Soviet partisan was stationed, which cooperated with the 27th Volhynia Division of the Armia Krajowa. The population of the village of Zahajki experienced horrible events that forced the population to fear for their own lives.
