Summary: | This article aims to question the pact of mutuality, which has existed since the beginning of the 20th century between the novel and the cinema. More precisely, it will refer to the comparative approach, which highlights the dialogue among the arts, the analysis of the literary text and its reception by the world of cinema. This is why we chose Les Misérables, a classic text, which has seen many adaptations in French and other languages. We will then study the transition from the textual medium to the multimedia medium by focusing on the famous scene of Cosette in the nocturnal woods as the director Josée Dayan adapted it in 2000. |
