Description
Summary:The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of increasing levels of the substitution of sorghum silage by wet brewery grains (WBG) on the feeding behavior of feedlot finished lambs. Twenty-four Suffolk breed single birth non-castrated male lambs were maintained in individual stalls. The treatments consisted of four substitution levels of sorghum silage by WBG: 0 %; 33.5 %; 66.5 % or 100 %. Roughage and concentrate at 50:50 ratio were used, basing on dry matter. The concentrate was composed of ground corn, soybean meal and mineral mixture. The diets were isoproteic containing 18.81 % CP. The time used on feeding, rumination and total chewing activity decreased (P0.05), averaging 1.371 and 0.466 Kg/day, respectively. WBG level in diets linearly increased (P = 0.05) daily weight gain of the animals.
