Description
Summary:Acoustic emission sensors are most of the time based on piezoelectric sensors, which may not be suited for harsh environments or be too bulky to integrate a large number of them. We present here a system based on Fiber Bragg gratings on optical fibers to measure acoustic emission events. The use of such sensors enables a low intrusivity and measurements in extreme environments. The system is designed to enable measurements under varying environmental conditions, enabling its use in real applications.
