Acoustic scattering from an elastic plate reinforced with an infinite number of periodic ribs
The scattering of plane, time-harmonic waves, incident on a flat elastic plate of infinite length is studied. Summary: | The scattering of plane, time-harmonic waves, incident on a flat elastic plate of infinite length is studied. The plate is assumed to form the interface between an acoustic fluid and the vacuum and be reinforced with periodically spaced ribs. The reinforcements exert both forces and moments on the plate. The aim of this paper is to theoretically investigate the backscattered field of the incident sound wave for frequencies below and above the critical frequency of the plate. |
