Description
Summary:A study is presented on the methodology of comparing different survey techniques based on indirect methods against direct methods to estimate the practice of copying and plagiarism of students at the University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez, Campus in the beginning of the second semester of 2006--2007 and the summer of 2007. Both sensitive and non-sensitive questions were considered in order to compare indirect survey methods against direct methods. Two indirect survey techniques were considered: The Incomplete Balanced Blocks (Raghavarao and Federer, 1971) and The Method of Not Matched Lists (Miller and Cisin, 1984). In order to compare the aforementioned techniques with direct methods, each was compared with a traditional questionnaire. Both indirect methods used in this investigation included sensitive and non-sensitive questions to find their estimators.
