Summary: | Eosinophilic granuloma is a subtype of Langerhans cell histiocytosis and a benign tumor appearing with single or multiple
lytic bone lesion. Although the main reason is not certain yet,
it is thought to be developed with secondary reaction to immune deficit or inflammation or infection diseases and viral
infections might trigger. Leptomeningeal cyst might appear on
pediatric age group after separated linear fracture due to
head injury if dura mater is also torn. Especially on convexity
fractures, dura mater is torn but arachnoid is intact. As a
result of swelling brain parenchyma with pulsation, dura
mater migrates and brain parenchyma becomes hernia. In this
case a five year old person which has a lump showing pulsation after a minor head injury which had happened 4 weeks ago
and made us to think of a leptomeningeal cyst and lead us to
make an operation but the pathological results are eosinophilic granuloma is represented. |
