Summary:Stormwater facility maintenance and costs are key to the success of any bio-retention or Natural Systems (NDS) stormwater facility. What are the requirements for these systems and what are the life-cycle costs? On-going communication and sharing of the lessons learned from these new are vital for continued success. Clear and management plans and facility maintenance are for sustaining the benefits of these systems. SPU finalizing a working operations and maintenance for Natural Drainage Systems. SPU's total NDS package includes the following: 1) NDS Manual, 2) Workbook Job Costing Access Database, Maintenance Category Checklists, 4) Key Indicators Form. The Maintenance manual different levels of service, based on the goals requirements of an individual system. A cost provides cost estimates for achieving the level service specified for the given system. The category checklists for both vegetation and swale are highlighted in a separate document to allow and consistent performance reporting. Checklists summarized for reporting to management using the Performance Indicator forms.
