Summary:Polycrystalline sample of the ternary intermetallic compound HoAuSn was investigated by X-ray diffraction, ac and dc susceptibilities, and 119Sn Mossbauer spectroscopy. The hexagonal structure of CaIn2-type is only observed independently on applied heat treatment of the sample. Bulk magnetic measurements together with Mossbauer results indicate antiferromagnetic transition below TN = 8.7 K.
