Description
Summary:This retrospective study evaluates infant bed-sharing at a Missouri family practice with OB care. After Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval, data were extracted from the first four well-child visits of 2374 infants between Sept. 2003 and Dec. 20 11. Bed-sharing decreased after 2005 (25%, 39%, respectively, p = 0.000). For infants who bed-shared, the frequency of bed-sharing did not decline. Nearly 20% of infants bed-share before the first visit; safe sleep prenatal education is warranted.
