Description
Summary:Stanisl$SVRaw Ossowski developed a system for classification of the social order into three types -- monocentric, polycentric, & collective; these can be further broken down into mixed forms (eg, primarily monocentric with some polycentric aspects -- the central government making most decisions, aided by interaction with local agencies). A fourth order is suggested, in which collective activities are governed by contracts. Society is made up of interacting elements, & any valid typology must include various subsystems of the different social orders. 1 Table, 1 Diagram. A. Darroch.
