They were among the twenty academic and industrial leaders who had been invited to attend the 2009 Glion Colloquium on Higher Education. The topic was “Universities and the Innovative Spirit,”¹ a good match because they are both innovative men, and like innovators everywhere, they are not afraid to take risks.
