Description
Summary:Corky bark is one of the four diseases of the rugose wood complex. In field-grown Vitis vinifera L. cultivars it may not be clearly identified, whereas in the indicator 'LN 33' it induces highly characteristic modifications of the leaves (yellowish spots), shoots (swelling and cracking of the basal internodes) and stem (marked grooving). In Sardinia, corky bark was the object of investigations that led first to its discovery and now to further observations carried out also in the framework of a sanitary improvement programmes. Some of the recent findings, a preliminary account of which was already been given, are reported in the present paper.
