Summary: | KW-1062 was tried on acute cases with various infections in the field of surgery, and effective responses were seen on 11 of all the 16 patients. Untoward side effects were experienced on 2 cases : an uncomfortable sensation in the chest immediately after an intramuscular injection on one case, and dermal rash on the other. In addition, serum levels and urinary excretion were investigated in healthy male volunteers. KW-1062 is a new promising antibiotic effective for acute infections, especially caused by gram negative rods including Pseudomonas aeruginosa in the field of surgery. |
