Description
Summary:A braking system is necessary for micro wind turbines to prevent over revolution, to protect the battery from over charge, and to allow for proper maintenance. Conventional electric brakes cause a large braking torque on the rotor blades and damage from burning of the generator windings by short circuit of the generator output. In this paper through using a PWM electric braking circuit and a FET control circuit a gentle brake can be performed. By changing the parameters of components in the electric brake circuit we can achieve the aim of braking control. From adjust the brake force, the burden placed on a braid, a rotor, dynamo winding, etc. can be eased.
