Network optimization exploiting traffic grooming techniques under fixed and elastic spectrum allocation

We present a novel planning methodology addressing both fixed ITU as well as flexible grid networks. The proposed optimization in conjunction with node clustering is shown to improve energy efficiency and cost of the BT network by about 15%.
