Description
Summary:The installation of voltage control equipment such as dynamic voltage restoration (DVR) is to reduce the influence of the voltage dip to customer loads. However, the required capacity of voltage control equipment is often overestimated because customers don't always have precise load type and its approximate capacity. To identify adequate compensation capacity, the logic that estimates load type and capacity by using total current and voltage at interconnected node to power system is required. This paper presents an estimation method of load type and its approximate capacity for cost reduction of voltage control equipment. The originality is to construct the estimation logic based on transient waves of a starting load taking account of the influence of voltage dip and a noise imposed on signals. The effectiveness is verified by simulator tests that the voltage dip is large under a starting load and by actual data with a noise.
