Description
Summary:Recent years have seen a considerable increase in generation being connected at distribution voltages. As such, measures are being taken to accommodate these changes on networks including the implementation of active network management (ANM) schemes and devices. Such changes in network operation will provoke a change in control philosophy. New scenarios will present themselves on networks and will be communicated to control rooms that must be capable of interpreting them and taking adequate control measures. This paper explains the changes that will occur on networks and present some early analysis of alarm data and how it is impacted by these changes. It also describes the simulation and test package that is being built to simulate new control scenarios. Some future work is then proposed, both in terms of expanding the test scope of networks and of completing the simulation and test package.
