Summary: | In this paper a new combined multipulse-multilevel inverter topology is proposed for the static synchronous series compensator to regulate power flow over the line. A closed loop controller for operating the SSSC in the automatic power flow control mode is developed. To analyze the performance of the SSSC connected in series with the transmission line, a single machine infinite bus power system has been considered. The complete digital simulation of the SSSC incorporated into the power system is performed in the MATLAB/Simulink environment and the results are presented to validate the feasibility of the proposed topology. |
