Description
Summary:There is a need to address the challenge of a specialized internet based Content Based Medical Image Retrieval (CBMIR) system that can help the doctors or medical practitioners across the globe in referring the existing medical records before taking a final decision over the diagnosis. This can help to minimize the risks of wrong treatment. In this paper, we propose such a system developed using MATLAB and JAVA which is deployable over internet and can be used for remote diagnosis. Our system supports visual queries in the form of medical images pertaining to chest area and it retrieves the similar cases along with the entire case history, related medical images, findings, diagnosis etc. This information is extracted using content based image retrieval techniques from a remote database developed by us.
