Description
Summary:We present a new protocol, the SLAC ASIC Configuration Interface (SACI), which has been developed to fit the command and configuration requirements of the ePix line of ASICs and X-ray cameras developed for LCLS at SLAC. SACI is a serial protocol very similar to SPI, with adaptations to allow for backpressure. The protocol has an open source VHDL implementation, and has been successfully implemented in over 15 different ASICs developed by SLAC.
