Summary: | Electric vehicles (EVs) have transformed the automotive landscape offering an eco-friendly and efficient alternative to traditional combustion engine vehicles so due to this it has got more acceptance in this current global scenario. This paper mainly focuses on capacitive and inductive techniques of wireless power transfer, its efficiency, power transfer techniques and topologies. Due to development in charging infrastructure the technological incentives continue to adopt EV for a cleaner and sustainable environment in future. WPT in EV is a groundbreaking technology that involves power transfer from source to batteries without the need of plugs and cables. Classification of charger stations into off-board and on-board which include IWPT and CWPT, enable us to understand the different technologies and infrastructure in charging EV. Each method has its advantages and limitations, contributing to the charging options available to the EV users. |
